The Application of Meditation

The Application of Meditation is a companion course to Yoga for Meditation. In this class Chase Bossart takes the tools and practices from our Yoga for Meditation course and walks the class through the process of designing the experience while participants share how the experience impacted them. It is an in-depth review and reflection on the structures that generated the experiences had within each experience. And in hearing how others experienced the tools utilized, students can better learn the nuances of each applied tool. Through this process, you will learn about the what, how and why of meditation, especially the application of meditation!

Detailed Breakdown of Tools and Intention

Each discussion is about how and why specific Yoga techniques were applied to specific meditation focuses. It is the theory and wisdom behind the design and an open inquiry into how it all worked, or not!

Peer Discussion and Community

Many of the discussions started in The Application of Meditation carry on past the Zoom room as students share both in class and in our private discussion forums. These shares help all to better understand the variety of ways tools and meditations can land and how they move through yourself and others.

Downloadable Practices and Notes

At the end of each month Chase posts the hand drawn practice he has created with any notes he has made as the practice develops.

 What You Will Experience

Twice a month, directly after Yoga for Meditation, in The Application of Meditation, we review what happened by sharing our experiences and with thorough explanation on how the structure and instructions of the meditation generated the experiences that were had. During this time, we review things like:
The purpose and application of the preparation, for example the selected āsanas & prāṇāyamas
How the preparations could have been adjusted and what effect that might have had on the experience
The various meanings and significances of the month’s meditation object
How personal experience influences the outcome of each meditation
The meaning and application of general meditation concepts and their application in Yoga Therapy

"Your high artistry of meditation design – that is what interests and inspires me.

What I love about Yoga for Meditation is the endlessly unique experiences that show me new things about what meditation can do & about life & myself…I am an experienced designer… For me, meditation is the most fascinating experience of all to design. The worlds you open up on Wednesdays, the potential you hint at, your high artistry of meditation design – that is what interests and inspires me about meditation."
